IWT - Version 2.1
23 Aug 2026
Today Version 2.1 arrived
Challenges have become a central part of IWT — and in 2.1 they’re easier to use, faster, and built to work seamlessly with iwtlife.com.
Challenges now have their own tab. One tap takes you to your standings, lets you start a new challenge, or join one with a code. Progress hasn’t gone away — it’s simply moved to More → Progress.
IWT and iwtlife.com work together. Every challenge has a web page with a live leaderboard. Share the link and anyone can follow along in their browser — no app or account required. Join codes, QR invite posters, recurring goals, private PIN-protected groups and official prize challenges make it much easier to bring other people in.
Faster performance and smoother iCloud backup. Progress and challenge standings are calculated much more efficiently, especially if you have months of walks behind you, and iCloud backups no longer pause the app.
Now runs on iOS 18. IWT no longer requires the latest iOS, opening challenges to considerably more iPhone users.
And the guide has caught up. “How to Use IWT” now covers everything from widgets, Apple Watch and iCloud backup to reminders, free walks and the new challenge features.
IWT itself hasn’t changed at heart: the same 3-minute brisk / 3-minute easy interval walking, the same 30-minute guided sessions, streaks, medals, ranks and Fitness Index — still free.
Update from the App Store, open the new Challenges tab, and send someone a link. They don’t even need IWT yet.
